son of Arie Edelstein and Hannah Linder father of Channa [Dina] Linder, Adele Linder, Fanni Linder, Max Linder NOTE: Despite being brothers, Hermann Linder did not share the same surname as his elder brother Osias Edelstein. The reason for this was because in Galicia at that time, if births were not registered with the civil authorities then the maternal surname was only recognised by the authorities. As Osias was the older brother it is believed he carried the paternal surname Edelstein whereas the younger Hermann carried the maternal surname Linder.
